I was talking to one of my BFFs today and thought about adding this page to the JGP blog. I hope it helps answer a lot of your questions before, during, or even after you have scheduled an appointment. Happy reading…

Typically how long is a session? Sessions can range in time from 30 minutes up to 2+ hours (for newborns).  A lot depends on the age of the kids and the patience of everyone. I work at keeping us all very active and have a great time so that an hour does not seem like forever.  When we shoot, get all the shots that everyone is wanted, I don’t feel a need to stick to a time limit and stretch it out just to take up time. That does not make anyone happy. So, when you are booking time on your calendar and around childrens naps, I would plan on being on location for about an hour to an hour and a half. This is a fun time to relax and enjoy playing as a family.

What is a MINI? A MINI is a great way to capture just a handful of pictures of the family, a few of each of the kids and works out great for Christmas cards. These work out great when time is always what keeps people from doing family photos.  Hubbys really seem to love these….they are only 20 minutes long and we stay in one area and get the job done.

Why do I need to pay for my session fee before the appointment? Session fees are paid for ahead of the appointment basically to hold your spot. Unfortunately, I have learned the hard way and when I would collect payment at the shoot, appointments were forgotten. Honestly, it was a mess. This is the way that seems to work and I appreciate your understanding!

How much is the session fee? A session fee is $50.00 for up to 5 people. It is an additional $10.00 per person after that.  The session fee is for time and talent that is put into each session and does not go toward any prints.

What if I have to cancel? Situations do arise and I totally understand. Just out of being sweet, kind and courteous a 48 hour notice is greatly appreciated.  Sickness day of does not fall into that category.

What if it is cold or raining? I do not have a studio for us to shoot in so if it is raining….we will either find a creative place to shoot, or reschedule  Cold??  That is just Oklahoma I have found out. If it is just cold, we shoot.  That is one of the fun things about living here and the weather is very unpredictable, especially when we are doing Christmas shoots.  Layer up and wear a funky hat….that is what keeps me warm. :)

How long after our shoot will our gallery be available? Your gallery will be available to view within two weeks of your shoot. You will receive an email instructing you on the gallery site and password to use.  Feel free to share with your family and friends this information!

How long is our gallery up online? Your gallery will be up for one week.  If additional time is needed there is a $25.00 re-hosting fee that will apply and collected before it is re-hosted.

Do you have any suggestions on how to display photos on a plain wall? Oh do I….I am so excited about this.  I have been checking out sites and seeking out different photographers info and found some great display pages. I will be posting them shortly or have them available for you during your ordering appointment.
